Dr. Winojith Sanjeewa

Dr. Winojith Sanjeewa is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing and Events at York St John University, where he serves as Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Events and Experience Management programme. A Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), he brings extensive international academic experience gained across the UK, Sri Lanka, India, and Singapore. His work is driven by a commitment to inclusive education, student success, and industry engagement, helping to create learning experiences that are academically rigorous, globally relevant, and socially impactful. Dr Sanjeewa’s research focuses on marketing, events, diversity and inclusion, cultural identity, and qualitative research methodologies. He has contributed to numerous international conferences, workshops, and publications, while fostering collaborative partnerships across South East Asia and the United Kingdom. As Athena Swan Co-Institutional Lead and an active advocate for equality, diversity, and inclusion, he leads initiatives that promote equity and belonging within higher education and wider society. His dedication to teaching and community engagement has been recognised through several awards, including the Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence (2025). Through his research, leadership, and external partnerships, he continues to bridge academia and industry while empowering students and communities to thrive.
