Required Information
The official currency of Barcelona (and all of Spain) is the Euro (EUR); One Euro consists of 100 cents.
ATMs are widely available, and credit/debit cards are commonly accepted throughout the city. However, it’s still useful to carry some cash for small cafés, markets, or local shops.
Spain uses plug types C and F. Both plug types have two round pins. The standard voltage is 230V with a frequency of 50Hz.
If you are taking prescription medication, it’s recommended to bring enough for your entire stay. Spanish regulations allow travelers to carry personal medication for their own use. However, you should carry a copy of your prescription and keep medicines in their original packaging. Certain controlled substances may require additional documentation.
Spain is part of the Schengen Area.
Nationals of many countries can enter Spain visa-free for up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism or business purposes. Travelers from countries not exempt must apply for a Schengen visa before arrival.

Barcelona Airport
The main international airport serving Barcelona is:

The airport is well connected to the city center by metro, train, bus, and taxi services.
Train Travel:
Barcelona is an important rail hub in Spain, with major stations including:
• Barcelona Sants
• Passeig de Gràcia
• França Station
High-speed AVE trains connect Barcelona with cities such as Madrid, Valencia, Seville, Zaragoza, and Paris.
Barcelona has an efficient public transport system operated mainly by TMB, including the Metro, buses, trams, and suburban trains.
With a valid ticket, you can use multiple modes of public transport within the selected zones.
Day Ticket for One Person:
A Hola Barcelona Travel Card or T-casual ticket can be used for convenient travel around the city. A standard unlimited 1-day travel pass typically costs around €10–12, depending on zones and ticket type. Tickets are valid for unlimited journeys within the selected period.
